Washing your clothes in cold water will get them clean and save you money in water heating costs regardless of whether your hot water heater runs on natural gas or electricity. Many name brand throwaway products, such as toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, and trash bags, are available for half the price as a generic brand. These generic products are generally just as good as their name brand counterparts and are frequently made out of identical materials, but the cost of the name brand products includes the cost of marketing the name brand, which can raise the cost of bringing an item to market by a significant amount. Many stores stock the generic equivalent of a product right next to the name brand item so the generics will be easy to find while you are at the store.
